Green Mama Smoothie
At 31 weeks pregnant my doctor called me to say I was a bit low in iron so I started having more dark leafy greens and vitamin C straight away. I hadn't really thought my tiredness was due to being low in iron, luckily I wasn't a zombie like in the first trimester! I knew I was tired from looking after our 26 month old and going through the winter months made me want to have more comfort food but I noticed as soon as started eating as bit better (I was super 'on it' with my first pregnancy!) my energy levels shifted as well as my mood and positivity!
My morning breakfast routine is I wake up and have a glass of water, have my Floradix iron supplement, wait half an hour then make this smoothie followed by toast to fill me up a bit more. This smoothie basically tastes like the smell of orange zest but I believe it's really good and normally the things that are good for you don't taste like what we're use to!
10fl Oz of orange juice
1 big handful of spinach leaves
1/4 tsp of chlorella powder by Real Food Source
1 heaped tbsp of Flaxseed by Linwoods
